Brendan Bey

Brendan Bey is a writer and US Army veteran who heard many stories from his sergeants about acts of murder, grand theft, and assaults committed by soldiers on bases and posts. One tale tells of a lone soldier on a three-hour pass found dead with a crushed skull near a barracks hall. Another recounts a supply sergeant who was murdered to cover up the theft of government property. It was a dismal time in the Army, following the Vietnam War. Beating recruits was both immoral and counterproductive.
